Map of High Profile Gun Violence

The graphic above shows the composite estimated average number of people shot or killed in the United States in one year and every day.

The "live" counter on the top right corner of our home page is based on these numbers.  You will notice that the live counter will go up as you browse or come back the site.

At midnight EST, the number will reach its highest value and then reset for the next day.

God Bless America

In one year, guns murdered 17 people in Finland, 35 in Australia, 39 in England and Wales, 60 in Spain, 194 in Germany, 200 in Canada, and 9,484 in the United States.

The United States is an outlier, in part, because our gun laws are woefully inadequate.
